Beyonce & Jay Z On The Run II Tour

Updated: Mar 10, 2020

On July 30, Mike and I attended the On The Run II Tour. This was my first Beyonce/ Jay Z concert and this was Mike's first concert ever so this event was really special to us.

We were fortunate enough to receive transportation to the Lincoln Financial Field, and were given a suite to watch the concert from. The stadium was so clean and very nice. The suite itself was absolutely amazing. Mike and I sat in the first row, and were able to open the windows and put our feet out and relax. The suite also provided us with open bar and food. We DEFINITELY took advantage of that perk the whole night.

The halls were filled with fans of all colors and backgrounds. Some wearing a concert tee while others were dressed in fine dresses and heels. Everyone was full of positive energy and the vibes were amazing even an hour before the opening act started. The people in our suite were so fun to eat and drink with and they were so fun to talk to. We were all excited about the concert, as we were all first time Beyonce concert attendees.

The first opening act was Chloe X Halle, two African American female sisters who are also known as Beyonce's protégés. They came on stage with a beautiful glitter two piece outfit, and such amazing energy. They really got the crowded moving and singing as they danced around the stage and sang their hearts out. Their voices were so angelic and I could definitely hear that they had Beyonce's vocal style. She definitely has trained them well and I can't wait to hear more from them.

The next person to come out was DJ Khaled, who I did not expect to come out on stage. I have been a huge fan of his for a while, so I was so hyped when he came out. He played his hits and even played some good old throwbacks to get everyone hyped even more! His energy was electric and he really got the crowd going with All I Do Is Win, and welcoming back Meek Mill who was at the concert but did not do a surprise performance.

Around 9 o'clock SHIT GOT REAL. Beyonce and Jay Z came out performing Holy Grail, leaving the crowd with chills. The whole show had fire, flashing lights, crazy stage performances, videos of Beyonce and Jay Z. IT WAS INSANE. If you listened closely to the song list, you'd notice that the song list tells the story of their love. From first being together, falling in love, breaking up, and coming back into love again and taking over the world as the strongest power couple. It was beautiful seeing the chemistry between both performers when they on the stage, but it was super cool to see them perform their solo hits on stage alone. It made you feel as if you were at two different concerts. About 37 songs were performed total by the Carters, and it never got tiring to watch.

Here is the list of all the songs performed:

1. "Magna Carta Holy Grail" - Beyoncé and JAY-Z

It was absolutely unreal to see Beyonce in person. It was even more unreal to me to see that she is just as perfect in person. She walks with such confidence and the way she flipped her long braided hair and danced left me speechless. I hope to one day be able to achieve that amount of confidence one day!

I really do respect the hustle between both Beyonce and Jay Z and I definitely now look at Beyonce as one of my new role models. This concert has definitely inspired me to be proud of myself and my accomplishments and to work on my confidence!

I would definitely go to another Beyonce and Jay Z concert and highly suggest that my readers look into getting tickets if they are local in your area!
